Get Involved - Volunteer

AIM volunteers during Christmas visit

Aid to Inmate Mothers is able to successfully support inmate mothers and their children thanks to our volunteers. It is only because of the wonderful people who give their time that we are able to fulfill our mission!

We serve children throughout Alabama, so no matter where you live in the state there are ways to get involved.

If you have one hour a month to give

  • - Write an article for our newsletter
  • - Spread the word about AIM in your community

If you have one day a month to give

  • - Help mothers record books during the Storybook Program
  • - Assist with monthly visitation sessions
  • - Speak to local community groups
  • - Teach a workshop to a re-entry group

If you have one day a week to give

  • - Mentor a newly released mother
  • - Assist with monthly visitation sessions
  • - Assist with support groups and classes for mothers

Our volunteers are important mentors and role models for incarcerated mothers who are looking to get back on their feet. Volunteers are also instrumental in helping affected children feel confident and comfortable.
